Fun in the Snow!

Merryn has been enjoying playing out in the snow.

Amazing snow painting – well done Merryn!

Coen has been experimenting mixing different substances with snow. The food colouring was Coen’s favourite! Teddy the dog helped too.

Measuring up in Maths!

As part of maths, P2-4 have been learning about measure. Mrs Cheyney showed the class how to measure themselves to make their own waistcoats. P2-4 worked really well together helping each other to get the measurements they needed. It was a great practical example of how important learning to measure accurately is. Well done P2-4!

World Book Day 2023

Ollaberry Primary School celebrated World Book Day on Thursday 2nd March.

There were lots of great costumes from much loved books. Pupils wrote their own short stories, creating a library of mini books! We also enjoyed reading and listening to books, inside and outside as it was a beautiful day.

Pupils enjoyed some music outside in the sunshine too.

Northmavine Up-Helly-Aa 2023

Pupils, Parents and Staff of Ollaberry Primary School were delighted to welcome Jarl Sigurd ‘Snake in the eye’ and his squad into school on Friday 17th February.

It was fantastic to celebrate Northmavine Up-Helly-Aa again. Pupils had great fun making their own shields, helmets and weapons, creating a display for the school and painting shields for the galley. The pupils were delighted to sing a song for the Jarl Squad too.

P2 – 4 STEM Challenge

P2 – 4 completed a STEM challenge this morning. They looked at different famous monuments from around the world and chose one to build using different sized blocks.

The class worked hard to design and build their creations. There were lots of great engineering skills being put to the test to work out how to use the resources to create the monuments.

Well done P2-4!
