P 6/7 have practiced mixing colours by making a colour wheel.

The children firstly practiced mixing colours for their colour wheel. Then they chose a butterfly to paint and these are the results. There are some lovely combinations of colours. All representing real butterflies from tropical rainforests around the world. They chose their own butterfly to study and paint learning more about them as they create.

Discovering Discovering colours
The children have been exploring using oil pastels and watery paint the children have made their own wheat fields and thought about how we get our food. What we can make from wheat? How do we share our food?

….in our next piece of work the children were thinking about the shape of a hedgehog and where it lives. We know hedgehogs make their homes in leaves and long grasses or under wood for shelter. Most hedgehogs hibernate for the winter.
