Lunches

We have a rolling lunch time in the setting, the children can serve themselves from the bowls on the table and pour themselves a drink from the jug. Real crockery and cutlery are used providing real experiences and support is given to the children if needed. Lunchtime is a sociable part of the day where the children and staff participate in conversations and enjoy each others company in a relaxed environment. Children build on their independence at this time by clearing, scraping and rinsing their plates as well as deciding which scraps should go where, in the compost bucket or the hens bucket before putting them in the dishwasher to be cleaned.
