There was a loud noise… and when I looked to see what was going on, I was met with grins and giggles. Some of the bairns decided to make a class band… they performed Jingle Bells to the audience. It was such a (loud) treat!

The bairns had a lovely morning from a visit from the Royal Botanic Garden in Edinburgh. The bairns listened so well and joined in with a variety of different activities.

We had a super afternoon at the polytunnel where we did some digging, planting, gathering eggs and feeding the goats.
We were delighted to welcome Sean Thuis (Esme’s dad) back again for another action-packed, fun session… he did not disappoint! The bairns loved the session on germs and were treated to a fun powerpoint, looking at salt in the microscope (to help show us how small germs actually are) as well as doing a germ game outside! Thanks to Sean for taking the time to come in and share this with us all. We loved it.
It was so lovely seeing so many of you at the Pirate themed Learner Led Event. It was busy (and hot) but was a brilliant afternoon with a lot of happy bairns! Thanks to everyone who came along.
Continuing on with Magnets, we had lots of fun using the magnets to attract and repel things. We looked at the north and south poles and what makes them attract and what makes them repel.
On Friday, we had our Big Play. A lovely afternoon where the children could choose where to play and who to play with! A lovely, busy afternoon!
What a busy afternoon! The bairns carried out a variety of different activities… and some even managed to combine both themes into one project!
For our Big Question this week, we have been looking at magnets and did some exploration with them. Lots of fun finding things around the classroom. They also showed me what attracting magnets look like and repelling magnets… they picked this up very quickly.
Our play projects have been capybaras and islands… and the bairns did not fail to impress!
