This week we learned about Viking longhouses. We discussed the different features that these may have had and then created our own. Some pupils decided to work in a group and some decided to work individually for this. Before they started to build, they planned out their design.

Up Helly Aa season!
We are preparing for Up Helly Aa by learning some Shetland dances. The children are also learning about Vikings in the past and built their own longships through junk modelling and following instructions for a cut and stick activity.

Visit from the Essy Kert!
We were lucky to get a chance to chat to our local essy kert workers to stop and share how their job role helps us, as part of P1-3s topic. Thanks to Victor and Alec for stopping along, but also for the weekly horn honks and friendly waves they give us!

Christmas Concert
Well done to P1-7 for putting on a brilliant performance tonight! They have all worked really hard.

Snowman Instructions
This week, P1-3 made some snowmen using various materials. They worked well together to decide what they wanted to use and to build their snowmen. Afterwards, they wrote instructions for how to make a snowman.

We were grateful to Dave for coming to speak to us about his role in the coastguard. They do so many amazing things to help us!

Visit from the Police
Today we had a visit from the Police as part of the P1-3 topic on ‘People Who Help Us’. It was very informative and we had lots of fun trying on police equipment and looking at the police van.
