Children in Need 2025

Children wore pjs and took their teddies in to school today, took part in Challenge Yourself 25 activities and made donations to Children In Need. Well done to everyone for giving it such a good go! Our Pupil Council counted the donations and we raised a fantastic £60! Children in the school have been learning about charity recently and have explored other charities locally and nationally.

Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh workshop

We were very lucky to have Eve all the way from the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh come to give us a workshop on super-soils. It was so interesting, the kids especially loved the microscope which showed us so many things up close (including soil!)

Dressing Up

Thank you to the Nesting Scrapstore for their donation of dressing up items. And thanks to our Play Support Worker for getting in touch with them. Our pupils loved the new items and we now have such a super variety of sizes and costumes to stimulate more imagination and role play fun. Please get in touch with us if you are planning a clear out as we look to extend our role play areas.

Week 4

It’s been a busy week in Nesting! Mrs Marshall was in on Monday to allow Mrs Malcolmson to attend a meeting. The children were delighted to see her again!

p4-7 have been busy adding to their imaginative stories, they are taking time to ensure detail and punctuation.

P1 have been learning more sounds – ‘i’ and ‘p’ and have been learning about numbers 4 and 5.

There was also great excitement when the work men took away the barrier to the path. It has been completed a week earlier than planned! Thank you to Learning Estates (SIC) for getting the project underway. We are proud to make our garden accessible to all.
