The class were learning about Viking food and drinks so had a go at baking some bread that may have been eaten in the past. The verdict was positive with many enjoying it!

Mari and Ellie visited us to share what life was like for the Vikings. They brought with them some replica items and filled us full of wonderful Viking facts! Here are some photos from the session with P1-P3.

We have been coming up with our own Viking names. We have some fierce faces to match our names!

We are preparing for Up Helly Aa by learning some Shetland dances. The children are also learning about Vikings in the past and built their own longships through junk modelling and following instructions for a cut and stick activity.

We’ve had a lovely Christmas dinner today. Thank you to our cook Helen, she did a fantastic job!

We were lucky to get a chance to chat to our local essy kert workers to stop and share how their job role helps us, as part of P1-3s topic. Thanks to Victor and Alec for stopping along, but also for the weekly horn honks and friendly waves they give us!

We were grateful to Dave for coming to speak to us about his role in the coastguard. They do so many amazing things to help us!

Today we had a visit from the Police as part of the P1-3 topic on ‘People Who Help Us’. It was very informative and we had lots of fun trying on police equipment and looking at the police van.
