Football Fever⚽

Last term we enjoyed the Number Zoo stories to 10.  Spotty seven is a favourite.  He is a giraffe and has 7 bones in his neck, just like us, and Mr Bones!

Today we explored the number 11.  We watched Numbertime 11 where they played a football game.  We learned there are 11 players in a football team.  Some of us knew that already.

We decided to invent our own number 11 story – Dalmatian  dog eleven – with 11 spots.  We wonder if our story might feature a football game?

Halloween and Samhain 🎃👻🦇🧙🪄

We started celebrating Halloween today with a cosy Halloween backdrop on the big board.

We guessed the number of pumpkins then counted to check.  How many windows are lit up?  How many bats can you see?  How many fires are there?  Can you see the ghost?

We were dressed in some super Halloween costumes and some super everyday outfits.  We even made up our own Happy Halloween sign-a-long sign thanks to a member of the class.

On the table was a carved pumpkin with love hearts and a traditional neepy lantern which another member of the class brought in.  We compared the 2 lanterns and thought the neepy one was the favourite.  We also learned about some Samhain traditions, faeries and magic folk.

We then chose some movement songs from the GoNoodleween Party!  Click on the link below.
