Term 1

Maths Week Scotland

Class 1 were involved in Maths Week Scotland this term. We used giant Numicon and our tuff tray activities for some visual and tactile learning about early number.

Child-led and Play-based Learning

We love to learn through play in Class 1. We have a new sensory play experience each week. The class have really enjoyed engaging with these activities.  Some pupils make creations following their interests. We even made our  own piñatas.

We’ve been visiting the Clickimin track on Wednesdays to use the Ability Shetland Bikes. 

Story Group has been popular in Class 1 this term. We love to engage in inclusive and sensory stories, using Alternative and Augmentative Communication methods to participate and engage.

Class 1 have enjoyed baking sessions this Term. We have made a variety of foods, such as biscuits, pizzas, cupcakes, and fruit puddings. We have used a variety of skills and experimented with tasting and smelling new foods.
