The DB4SQL program is not installed on each computer.
This would be ideal, but it takes considerable time to install and keep updated.
Instead a Portable version has been saved on the network – which any computer can run.
However, your computer does not know where the program is.
Option 1 – Shortcuts
If you do not already have a shortcut to DB4SQL :
- Open Windows Explorer (win+E)
- Open N:\Computing\Database Browser for SQLite
- Right-click the .exe file and select “Pin to Start”
if this doesn’t work, then copy the shortcut to your database folder
Option 2 – Registering DB4SQL
This option takes a few more steps, but will register the application on your computer. You will then be able to open database files by double-clicking them.
- Right-click on a database (*.db) file
- Select Properties
- Click the Change button
- Click “More apps”
- Scroll down to bottom of list
- Click “Look for another app on this PC”
- Open folder “N:\Computing\Database Browser for SQLite”
- Select “SQLiteDatabaseBrowserPortable.exe”
- Press “Open” button
- Press “OK button”
