Graphical Communication

Available at National 4, National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher Levels

The aims of the Course are to enable learners to develop:

  1. skills in graphic communication techniques, including the use of equipment, graphics materials and software
  2. creativity in the production of graphic communications to produce visual impact in meeting a specified purpose
  3. skills in evaluating the effectiveness of graphics in communicating and meeting their purpose
  4. an understanding of graphic communication standards protocols and conventions, where these apply
  5. an understanding of the impact of graphic communication technologies on our environment and society

National 4-Advanced Higher Courses mainly focus on two key areas; Desktop Publishing and Computer Aided Design.

Software used here includes Autodesk Inventor, Reddit, Microsoft Publisher, Microsoft Office, Snipping Tool, Homestyler.

The Autodesk packages are available to students free of charge through the Autodesk website.
