S1/2 Business and IT

S1 and S2 are taught and assessed under the Curriculum for Excellence experiences and outcomes, guided by the Benchmarks – specifically relevant topics within the Technologies and social studies outcomes.

S2 Structure of Work

Finance	Term 2 October – December	What is budgeting? Borrowing and saving Taxation and Playslips
Chocolate Box	Term 3 January – March	Creating a new product Marketing this product Learn about Fairtrade What finances are involved and how to set prices.
Sports Project	Term 4 April – June	This project is usually based on a current sports event. Pupils will use of all of their skills that they have learnt in S1 & S2 in this project.

Recording and Assessment

There are no formal assessments in S1 or S2. It is a continuous process done by the Teachers using their professional judgement.

Homework Policy

There is no homework associated with the current S1 and S2 practical courses.
