At the end of S2 pupils choose up to 10 subjects they wish to continue to study in S3, from which they choose up to 7 subjects to continue with for certification in S4. This subject can be chosen in S3, S4, S5 and S6.
At N4 level, there will be no formal exam. There will be 3 units to complete in class and an assignment which is set by SQA to be conducted under a high degree of supervision and control.
At N5 level, the course assessment has 2 components.
- Question paper (50 marks) 2 hours
- Assignment (70 marks) 3 hours
The Assignment is worth 58% of the overall mark. Pupils work through a series of planning, support and follow-up tasks related to an event or business. The Assignment is set by SQA on an annual basis and conducted in school under a high degree of supervision. The exam consists of a question paper which is 42% of the overall grade.
Aims of the Course
- Pupils will develop an understanding of administration theory in the workplace.
- Pupils will develop IT skills and use them to perform administrative tasks.
- Pupils will acquire organisational skills in the context of organising and supporting events.
