Thursday 26th May

On Thursday morning we started handwriting for 15 minutes then we tried finishing of our stories. Mine is about a Roman Invasion in France. After break we did some maths. The Eco Hippie Hippos did Coordinates, the Randomly Royals did division, the Golden E’s did Volume and Centilitres and the Perrie Apples did doubling numbers. Then it was time for lunch. In the afternoon Mr.Hewitt got out some crackers, fruit bars and some red icing. We were going to learn about Plate Tectonics and Rocks. We first got two fruit bars, which are to represent Oceanic plates and laid them on top of the icing, which is the mantle. We moved the Oceanic plates apart from each other and by doing that it made a rift valley. This is called a Divergent Plate boundary. The next one was with a cracker, which is a Continental plate and Oceanic plate. We laid them on the Mantle and pushed them together. The Oceanic plate went under the Continental plate and sank into the Mantle. This is called Continental Oceanic plate collision. After that one there was another one. It is called a Continent-Continent plate collision. The Continents crash into each other and form mountain ranges. The last one was Transform Plate boundaries where the plates slowly scrape each other and then a huge jolt comes and then a earthquake happens. After that we ate all the ingredients. At the end of the day we finished off our class novel called Cool. It was a funny and kind of sad book.

P1-3 knitted some more of their sheep then finished there selkie potions. In the afternoon we painted 6croft animals and had play block.
