Last week was book week, most of our school did a shared reading project. Me and Sonia did on our own because our partners were away. We had to read a few books and come up with some activities to do with younger ones.
We had to read 3 books. The 1st one Mrs Breyley gave us was called Mouse’s First Night at Moonlight School by Simon Puttock. Me and Sonia really enjoyed it.
The next book Mrs Breyley gave us was Wanted! Ralfy Rabbit, Book Burglar by Emily Mackenzie. The last book she gave us was called Never Tickle a Tiger, it’s by Pamela Butchart.

The shared reading project is by the Scottish Book Trust. There were 3 books I could choose to read to Sofia and I choose “Mouse’s First Night At Moonlight School”. Sofia and I made a model classroom. We used a cardboard box for the classroom, playdough for the shelves, paper and string for the bunting and black paper and caulk for the moon.

Mara and I did a book about wanted the book. We did a book of a book and we did some of the illustrations in the book and wrote our own words that fitted the story. Mara liked colouring in the pictures and drawing them.
The reason we did it was that the Scottish book trust did a project that was that older ones should read to younger ones and do something interesting about it. They were three books that you could choose from and I chose Wanted by Emily MacKenzie I thought it was the best to do.

Me and Alice chose WANTED! by Emily Mackenzie. We did our own I Love Books t-shirt like Ralphy’s t-shirt. Alice says “I like the rabbits!”. Alice likes Arthur because he likes books. We would like to read more books by Emily Mackenzie.

We watched Janis Mackay authors meet. She spoke to us about her inspiration for the Magnus Finn books. She lived in a cottage near a beach in John O’Groats in Scotland there was something in the sea that looked like a hand it disappeared at the different tides. So one day she asked somebody what it was and it was a mast of a sunken ship from the war. Then Janis wrote Magnus Finn a boy who could breath on land and under the sea and ended up writing three books. Janis Mackay also read from her books The Accidental Time Traveler. We had to think what we thought could happen next if a stranger grabbed your ankles. I would like to read some of her books especially Magnus Finn.

Yesterday I went to Small School Sports at the Clickimin it was loads of fun but I learned some things I learned how to play a bit of squash and the ball felt different. The ball was hallow and didn’t feel right.
I also did dance We did the songs shake it off, hey hey with the monkeys and Jungle Book song.
I did bowls, its hard but I knew how to do it so it wasn’t as tricky when you know how to curve the bowl.
I did rugby but you couldn’t tackle and we played a mini game called end ball you weren’t allowed to move with the ball so you had to pass the rugby ball to your team.
