Introduction

YMI tutor Jon Jacobs is working with teachers and pupils to learn the guider in class. He has produced a range of videos. worksheets and songs to lear.

Here are some incredibly useful and relatively easy apps to help you tune your guitar.

ClearTune (a paid for App)

Guitar Tuna (Free)

Garageband (Free)

Garageband also has a tuner built in, but finding it isn’t particularly intuitive:

In Garageband, open a new track and scroll to this screen –

Select the guitar and you should see this screen. Tap the (beautifully highlighted) tuning fork icon –

And there’s your guitar tuner! It’s not pretty but it works and, as an added bonus, every child with an iPad has access to it.
