Sometimes you just know it has been a good lesson…
Alliteration, rhyme, repetition, onomatopoeia, word choice … S2 were on a roll today with their knowledge and use of poetic techniques. We then learned a little bit more about stanza layout.
All this was put to good use when we began writing our Kraznir Day 2 poems. One stanza down, lots more to go. Have a look tomorrow at some examples of our work.
Effective Opening Chapter
It was highlighters at the ready as we began our Chapter One analysis of ‘The Great Gatsby’. Remember to keep revising your notes and adding to your quotations as you go.
‘Choose a novel which has an effective opening. Discuss the ways in which the writer achieves this’.
This can be a common Critical Essay question at Higher, so make sure you are prepared and know your stuff.
