On Friday the 26th of May we went to the Millennium bridge in Doonfoot to see what birds we could spot. We got to look through a telescope at the birds and ask the RSPB volunteers questions we had. We also learned about how to become a volunteer for the RSPB.

Visit from Pieroni’s
We were lucky to have two ladies from the Pieroni’s fishmongers visit us on Wednesday the 24th of May. The showed us lots of different fish that come from our sea and two lobsters that were alive and wriggling about. We all got to touch the fish and the lobsters. The fish were cold and slimy. The ladies are coming back to visit us again soon and let us try some cooked fish.
Carnegie Library Visit
On Tuesday 23rd of May we walked to the Carnegie Library to hear some seashore themed books and to read books we chose from the bookshelves. We loved listening to the different stories and looking at all the books the library has.
Trip to Culzean
On Monday 22nd May we went on a class trip to Culzean Country park to learn all about our local wildlife in ponds and about the seaside as part of our Big Splash Fortnight. We had lots of fun fishing in the pond to see what creatures we could catch and learning about them from the Rangers. After we had lunch we went down the beach to scavenger for different things like driftwood, black stone, sea glass, and one group even found a mouse hiding under a rock. We learned lots of interesting facts about our beaches and about how to become a ranger at Culzean.
