This year P1/2 have been counting down to Christmas whilst helping others in need. They have been learning about empathy and to think of others less fortunate at Christmas. They have enjoyed giving to charity each day, finding out who they have helped behind each new window.
We all had a wonderful day filled with games, Santa, presents, a virtual pantomime and yummy hot chocolate and popcorn! A very special treat for a Friday. Thanks to everyone for making it happen!
‘Twas the week before Christmas and all through the school,
The Christmas spirit wasn’t spoiled by the COVID rules.
The children swapped singing for keeping the beat,
Clapping their hands and tapping their feet.
They learned some sign language and percussion too,
So sit back, relax and let them entertain you!

The children of Colmonell Early Years Centre and Primary School would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a healthy and happy 2021. They have prepared something special for you to watch. Enjoy!

🎄☃️🎅🎁❄️
P1-3 were learning about the Nativity and how important it is not to forget about the meaning of Christmas.
We did some activities to help us to learn more. We put the story in order, made Christmas angels, built the Nativity scene and created Christmas pictures on our new Geo Boards.
Today we had some visitors – very kind Christmas elves 🎁. We all rushed to the outdoors to see what they had brought us. We are so grateful for our beautiful Christmas wreath and lovely snowman. Thank you very much, Merry Christmas 🎄🌟
We have Christmas fever in P1-3!
Mrs Templeton has been helping us to develop our science thinking and inquiry.
We have been testing materials to see which are waterproof/not waterproof.
Building a boat using waterproof materials to keep an orange afloat.
Using our observing and recording skills to see how many water droplets fit on different coins.
We will remember them.
Just some of the wonderful outdoor learning activities we have done with Mrs McKechan.
