For young children to have an individual response it’s important you do not have a set goal. Children need their contributions to be noticed and valued so they build confidence and resilience. Give children enough space and time to experience and explore. Help and encourage them to develop their own curiosity and creativity. A child’s imagination and creativity are enriched through their awareness of art and other children around them. All of these creative experiences build powerful connections within the brain, Creativity is associated with focus, independence, a willingness to explore and ingenuity.

Block Play Feb 2024

Patterns follow a predictable rule and that rule allows children to predict what will come next. This skill continues though out life and helps children to make sense of the world around them.

All aboard the train.

Role play promotes critical thinking skills. As the children worked together to create the structures they used these skills to resolve  any obstacles that may arise.

Using different resources to promote number recognition.

Our week at the forest

Last week of our forest kindergarten block and what a fantastic week the explorers have had playing games of hide n seek ,find the fairy door and what’s the time Mr Wolf.
Everyday the children chapped on the squirrels door and listened sharing their thoughts and ideas “ I can hear the squirrel snoring “ “maybe it’s watching tv “Think lots of them playing with toys “they are singing twinkle twinkle “After a walk through the park the children decided to make their own park with swings, hammock ,a climbing tree , and balancing logs to crawl walk or run along . Children used sticks ,stones ,rope ,scarves and ribbon to create a fence ,a den house for watching birds , a horse and a scarecrow.
Using a magnifying glass we looked closely at the thorns on the jaggies ,the pattern on the snail and spiderweb.
Spring is coming as we discover daffodils starting to open .
Lots of fun splashing in the burn jumping in mud “feels sticky like gluey””it’s very soft”it’s sound squeaky”
Stories and songs in lunch tent ,roasting marshmallows on campfire and learning how to use tools safely .Another great week we all had in the local woodlands . Anyone interested in a forest bag or a family fun day please let me know
