Skype-a-thon

On the 29th November we joined classes from all around the world in Microsoft’s global Skype-A-Thon to celebrate learning without borders.

Skypeathon

Over the course of the day, the school managed to travel over 91,000 miles and visited 6 different continents during 21 different Skype calls. Over the whole event, educators from all over the world traveled 9,811,582 miles!

We loved hearing about the PokeStops found in other countries and sharing information about PokeStops near us in Paisley.

“The Elephant sanctuary was cool as they they had a special camera that allowed us to see the elephants.” Alesha.

Ari from Microsoft asked us for our ideas on how we can improve some of Microsoft’s products and games such as Halo and Minecraft.

The Mystery Skypes were great fun as we had to work out where the other school was from.

During the day we learned all about other countries, their customs and that people in the world are in different time zones.

We made lots of new friends from all over the world!

Week Ending the 9th December in P3b

This week has been a very busy week for everybody in Primary 3.

On Monday the class made Dreidels with Mrs Ormond and at assembly we learned all about the Elf on the Shelf.

We were very lucky on Tuesday to play rugby with the rugby coach. We learned how to hold the ball by making a ‘W’ shape with our hands. We had great fun in the afternoon with Miss Gibson when we learned the Orcadian Strip the Willow,

The dancing and singing at the P1 and P2 nativity rehearsal on Wednesday was fantastic!

Thursday was a brilliant day in Primary 3b. We were very lucky to go and sing at the Brewer’s Fayre in Linwood. We would like to say thank you to Brewer’s Fayre for a lovely lunch and we hope everybody enjoyed our singing.

On Friday we were very busy in the technology room making Latkes as part of our topic on Hanukkah. “I loved the Latkes,” Lauren.

We are getting ready for our assembly on Monday and we will let you know how this goes next week.

“I loved making the Dreidels this week!” Amii.

“The Latkes were super yummy!”Taylor.
