Skype-a-thon

On the 29th November we joined classes from all around the world in Microsoft’s global Skype-A-Thon to celebrate learning without borders.

Skypeathon

Over the course of the day, the school managed to travel over 91,000 miles and visited 6 different continents during 21 different Skype calls. Over the whole event, educators from all over the world traveled 9,811,582 miles!

We loved hearing about the PokeStops found in other countries and sharing information about PokeStops near us in Paisley.

“The Elephant sanctuary was cool as they they had a special camera that allowed us to see the elephants.” Alesha.

Ari from Microsoft asked us for our ideas on how we can improve some of Microsoft’s products and games such as Halo and Minecraft.

The Mystery Skypes were great fun as we had to work out where the other school was from.

During the day we learned all about other countries, their customs and that people in the world are in different time zones.

We made lots of new friends from all over the world!
