P7 Photographer

On Tuesday 21 March a photographer from the Homework Diary Company will be coming into school to take individual and group photographs.

These pictures are not available for purchase as they will appear in this year’s P7 Yearbook which has been funded by FOTW. Children should wear a white shirt and school tie for these photographs.

P7 Sky Sports Event

On Tuesday 28 March all Primary Schools in the Castlehead High School Cluster have been invited to participate in a sports and healthy living event. Mr Macdonald, the Headteacher at Castlehead, has organised transport and lunch will be provided, however your child can bring a packed lunch if they prefer.  Children should come to school dressed in comfortable sports clothing and as some activities are outdoors they must have a waterproof jacket.

P3’s Library Theatre

As this year’s Enterprise Project, each stage at West was asked to come up with a product or service that they could provide to the school, all based around the theme of World Book Day.

Here at P3, we decided to set up a pop-up theatre in our library to perform some of our favourite school plays, using our language, drama and creativity skills to bring these texts to life.

As well as learning and rehearsing the actual plays themselves, we had to decide on how we would advertise our service to the rest of the school and present our ideas at our Enterprise Showcase. We had great fun filming our very cinematic trailer for our Library Theatre.

Pancake Day in the Language Centre

Yesterday we all enjoyed making pancakes but the best part was eating the pancakes!!

The morning unit class and the Assessment and Development Class looked at the recipe and helped make the pancakes. They named the utensils and after eating the pancakes they sequenced the process of making delicious pancakes. They enjoyed choosing a yummy topping to spread on their own pancake!

The afternoon unit class looked at the recipe and talked about the utensils and the ingredients. They looked the mixture and  discussed the different colours , shades and textures. With each bite of the pancake they had to think of a differnt WOW word! They also took a pancake home too!

Videos from our Enterprise Showcase

We had a great afternoon showing each other the ideas we had come up with to promote World Book Day. Each year group thought of something that could promote reading. Have a look at our videos below.
