Pancake Day in the Language Centre

Yesterday we all enjoyed making pancakes but the best part was eating the pancakes!!

The morning unit class and the Assessment and Development Class looked at the recipe and helped make the pancakes. They named the utensils and after eating the pancakes they sequenced the process of making delicious pancakes. They enjoyed choosing a yummy topping to spread on their own pancake!

The afternoon unit class looked at the recipe and talked about the utensils and the ingredients. They looked the mixture and  discussed the different colours , shades and textures. With each bite of the pancake they had to think of a differnt WOW word! They also took a pancake home too!

Burns Day in the Language Centre

We have been talking all about Robert Burns all week and listening to his poems and songs. We made beautiful red rose finger paintings as we listened to ‘My Love is Like a Red Red Rose’. Today is a special day because it is Robert Burns birthday. We tasted haggis, neeps and tatties as well as drinking some Irn Bru! Some of us cleared our plates! After our Burns supper we tried oatcakes, shortbread and even a little piece of tablet. Yum!
