Science is an important part of our heritage and we use its applications every day in our lives at work, at leisure and in the home. Science and the application is vital for Scotland’s future, its economic growth and the health and wellbeing of our children and young people and society.
We aim to incorporate a balanced, educational, practical and engaging experience for our learners. Through learning in the sciences, your child will develop their understanding and natural curiosity, imagination and creativity. Your child will learn about the natural world and living things. The sciences will help answer their many questions as they come across new wonders and experiences relating to forces, chemical changes or their senses. They will learn to analyse, evaluate and think critically. They will creatively and critically engage in a range of investigative inquiry and scientific analytical skills through practical and experiential learning activities. Through applying what they learn in the sciences and making links to other areas of the curriculum, including through STEM, your child will develop progressive skills which they can carry forward into the wider world as scientists, engineers and designers of the future.
