Renfrewshire’s free rewards campaign

If you live or work in Renfrewshire and would like to earn rewards and support local businesses and charities, you are invited to sign up to Renfrewshire Council’s exciting new Not Far? Leave the Car campaign, which is now live and runs until the end of December.

The campaign rewards you, through the free to use BetterPoints app, for engaging in a more active and sustainable lifestyle by choosing to walk, run, wheel, cycle and take public transport more often. Participants earn points for their activities, which they can then use to support local businesses by exchanging points earned for exclusive discounts and offers from retailers within the app.  There will also be a host of other rewards and prizes on offer and participants can also choose to donate their rewards to local charities.

Taking part in the challenge is easy:

  • Download the free BetterPoints app from the App Store or Google Play.
  • Register your details, join the ‘Not Far? Leave the Car’ programme and use the BetterPoints app to track your active journeys.
  • Reward points are automatically credited to your account for eligible journeys.

The BetterPoints app has helped thousands of people across the UK and Europe to adopt greener and healthier habits.

Renfrewshire Active Schools Survey

Renfrewshire Active Schools have now launched our Pupil Activity Survey for 21/22. This short survey will allow your Active Schools Coordinator, Amy Couttie, learn more about your level of participation within sport and work to provide opportunities that are going to engage your child in sport and physical activity.

We aim to receive back a survey from every child around Renfrewshire and we can only do this with your support.

If you have a spare minute, could I please ask you to fill out the survey below for your child/children.

West Johnstone Campus Health Day 2021

Today we have been enjoying taking part in various activities for our Joint Campus Health Day.

We had lots of fun navigating an obstacle course on the pitch.

Then we participated in a range of sports around the school such as rugby, volleyball, basketball, athletics and problem solving.

Primary 4-7 also took part in Anti-Bullying workshops with Brian Donnelly.  All classes also participated in Health and Wellbeing activities in class.

Primary 1 Park Fun!

It was a very exciting afternoon in Primary 1. We had our very first adventure outside the school grounds. As a class we decided we would like to visit the park and have some fun playing together so that’s exactly what we did!

First we had to discuss our route and think about how we could get there safely. We managed to cross the road using the zebra crossing making sure we all looked both ways to check it was safe. Then we walked up the hill to the park. Some of us felt like we were walking up a huge mountain!

We had lots of fun playing together. We were sliding, swinging, running, climbing, bouncing and even making music!

We can wait for our next adventure!
