Mission and Aims

The aims of the service are to:

Provide a quality service which ensures best value and is directed at raising achievement and attainment amongst pupils with reference to GIRFEL and HGIOSS.

Provide a service which ensures that pupils are actively involved in their own learning and develops and supports a partnership with parents.

Work collaboratively with establishments and other agencies to meet pupils’ additional support needs and to ensure the effective management of resources.

Involve staff in all aspects of service delivery.

Provide a service which effectively supports the local community.

To plan and provide, in consultation with establishments, quality learning and teaching experiences based on an identification and assessment process which both supports the individual needs of pupils and encompasses the principles of quality and fairness.

Deliver a service which is committed to planning for improvement and is based on relevant policies and procedures.

Provide qualified staff who have the pre-requisite experience and expertise to undertake the role effectively and participate in the relevant staff development and reviewing process.

Deliver a quality specialist support service led by a management team which is committed to continuous improvement.
