John Muir Award

In 2021, Rashielea Primary School received the John Muir Award!

Throughout the year, outdoor learning has become so important to our school.  Our Primary 6 pupils took the lead of our John Muir Award.  We have cleared pathways within the wood, sourced materials to lay down for the entrance pathway, sought advice from the forest ranger from a nearby managed forest area (even visiting other wooded areas for inspiration) and secured the making of a plaque to lift the profile for the woods as a community space.  As well as this we have been learning lots about nature, sharing our experiences and knowledge with our community through videos, assemblies, Seesaw and Twitter.  Our school now has the most amazing “Rashie Woods” which we use every day.  We can’t wait to keep our adventures going!

Learning for today, inspiring for tomorrow!
