We hope you had a lovely weekend.

Primary 2 notes:

• Field days this week are: Monday and Thursday, weather permitting.
• If possible, we are looking for some loose parts and junk for our freeflow play. We would appreciate if you could save and send in items which could be used in our different areas. Ideally, tubes (kitchen roll only), small boxes, wallpaper, material, cotton wool, little pebbles or stones, corks, shells, lids, twigs etc: items which encourage the children to be creative and use their imagination in a variety of ways. Due to allergies, please do not send in any tubs from food that contains nuts, seeds and pulses, milk or eggs.
• This week the children will be given an opportunity to join the eco-committee. It would  be appreciated if you could discuss this role with your child. If they are interested, together you can fill in an application form which will have been sent home.
• Sainsbury’s superhero competition entries should be returned to your child’s class teacher by Monday 23rd September.

• A reminder that all medical forms to be returned to your child’s class teacher in their brown envelope, even if your child is not participating.
• Field days this week are: Tuesday and Wednesday.

We have had a fantastic first full week back at school and the children and teachers are enjoying getting to know each other.

Primary 2 notes:

• Pitch and Field rotas will commence this week. If you would like your child to venture down to our wonderful grounds then please ensure they have a pair of field shoes which they can change into by themselves. Rotas can be seen on your child’s classroom door/window.
• We are currently assessing reading and would hope to issue new reading books next week (wk. beg. Monday 2nd September).
• Spelling homework begins today. Please see below for an example of how homework should be completed.

Good Afternoon,

This week, we are revising the sound ‘sh’.

Homework jotters will stay in class this week and we will work with all pupils to complete the homework over the week together. This allows pupils to have a practise at completing the homework with our help as an example of how to complete the activities.

Maths homework will commence next week with reading books to follow in due course.

What wonderful stars you all are in Primary 2E!

Our first two days in Primary two have been fantastic. The children are settling into Primary 2  and beginning to become familiar with our routines.

I am loving getting to know you all, and cannot wait for all the fun learning experiences we are going to share throughout the year.

We will issue more information on homework and routines soon, but we wanted to let you know that our PE days are Thursdays and Fridays.  It would be much appreciated if you could ensure PE kits are sent into school by next Thursday. If your child has earrings, could you please ensure that they have been taped over on PE days.
