Hello everyone,
We hope you have all had a lovely weekend and are ready for the new school week ahead.
Our spelling rule this week is:
“wh”
Spelling rule homework words, to be copied out into your spelling jotter and then a further two times.
1. whip
2. whisk
3. whizz
4. whisper
Common tricky words
1. has
2. look
3. more
4. two
As always can you put at least one of your spelling rule words into a sentence. We would love to see the children challenge themselves by growing the words. For example
whisper – whispers, whispered, whispering
look – looking, looked, looks
Here is a helpful video to reiterate the spelling rule video.
Explore the world around you to find other words that use the ou spelling rule. We would love to hear these words in class or write them in your homework jotter.
All homework should be returned by Friday for your teacher to mark.
Maths
The maths homework grid should be attached to your homework assignment on TEAMS. Remember to only complete one activity a week, this can be repeated throughout the week as many times as you would like. The activities chosen should be different each week. This is to give the children some variety and to revise concepts taught throughout the term.
Reading
Your child has been issued a new book to read at home. If possible you could discuss the content of the book. You could use the three sharing. For example: what your child liked or disliked about the book, their connections or questions about the story. This helps support your child’s comprehension skills.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your child’s teacher.
