Each year we celebrate Scotland and all things Scottish in school during the month of January. Below is a list of poems children should choose from. They should choose one they wish to learn and will recite to the rest of the class towards the end of the month. A representative from each class is then chosen to deliver their poem at our Scots’ Assembly at the beginning of February. The children have been given a paper copy of the poems today and have been asked to circle their chosen poem by Monday 13th January.
The poems are:
Crocodile
The Bubblyjock
Doctor
Wee Rid Motor.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
Good Morning everyone, we hope you all had a relaxing break.
For spelling this week, the children will be revising their magic e sounds and words. There is no formal spelling homework.
The children have taken home a library book today to read with an adult at home. New reading books will be issued next week when running records have taken place.
There is no formal maths homework this week.
A gentle reminder to return all PE kits back to school.
In the next few weeks, we will be starting our Car Engineering Project. We are in need of any shoeboxes you have at home (preferably average size boxes) and any old cd discs you may have. These will help with the construction of our cars.
P2G had a fantastic time at our Christmas party! We were so lucky that Santa took time out of his busy schedule to come and see us! We really enjoyed meeting him.
Thank you so much for all my gifts, it was extremely kind!! I wish everyone a fantastic Christmas break and I look forward to seeing you all in January.
As our Nativity dress rehearsal is on Monday afternoon, we have reminded the children about bringing their Nativity outfit in on Monday in a bag with their name on it.
All Primary 2 and Primary 3 children should aim to wear jeans/denim skirt or trousers and a checked/denim shirt. If you don’t have a denim or checked shirt, can we please ask that your child wears a plain t-shirt. We are not expecting anyone to buy anything new. Some children have asked if they can wear cowboy hats, and this is allowed if they wish, or if they already have one.
We have asked the children to bring in toys to discuss and compare with old toys for our Toys Topic. Could the children please bring in their favourite toy on Friday (non-electronic) the 6th December.
We are going to be learning about Toys over the next few weeks. To allow us to learn about toys in the past, we are looking for any old toys you may have at home for us to investigate.
If you have any, could you please send them in a bag with your child’s name on it.
Primary 2F and P2G have decided to make giant numicon to use in and outside the classroom in our maths lessons. Could we have any cardboard boxes you are getting rid of to do this?
