Good afternoon!
I hope you have all been enjoying the lovely weather this weekend. Please see below for this week’s homework and class news.
Homework:
Spelling: This week our sounds are ‘oi’ as in noise, soil, boil and ‘oy’ as in toy, boy, employ. A spelling challenge grid will be issued tomorrow – this can be found in your child’s homework jotter.
Wordwalls: Wordwalls will be issued tomorrow. These will be heard fortnightly. Children have been working very hard on their common words – if you are able, please ask your child to use them in a sentence.
Reading: New reading books will be issued this week.
Maths: We have been learning about halving shapes, patterns and numbers. A sheet will be issued for homework. Here is the link to a game that can be played at home – there is a section for halves.

Class news:
Big Pedal: We will be outdoors everyday this week to take part in the Big Pedal. Helmets must be worn on bikes and it would be safer if children with scooters wore helmets too, however that is up to individual parents. Bikes will be stored in the section of playground outside our classroom during the day.
Reading Challenge: If possible could everyone please return their reading passports to me by Friday 27th April? This means I can total up the number of books read by our class this year.
Thank you for your support and have a great week!
