Hello everyone,

I hope you all had an exciting fireworks weekend. The homework and news is as follows:

Homework

Our spelling rule this week is ss (as is mess) and zz (as in jazz). We have discussed the difference between these sounds and that we tend to only find these sounds in the middle or end of a word.

Reading books have been issued again this week. Please if you are able, continue to discuss what happens at the beginning, middle and end of the story. We have been doing this in class and I am impressed with the conversations that we have been having.

Maths- last week in maths we looked at subtracting using a number line. The homework will give them a little bit more practice, as it can be quite tricky!

News

The children have been enjoying the beginning of our Stick Man topic. Last week, we created our own stick people and on Friday we created our wall display. I was so impressed with how hard the children worked. We will continue to look at Julia Donaldson books throughout this term.
