It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to Langbank Primary School.
We are a small, friendly school on the south bank of the River Clyde, with a current roll of 65 pupils. We are fortunate to have an experienced and dedicated staff who help to create a happy and productive ethos within the school.
We have very supportive parents who take an active interest in the school. The Langbank Parent Partnership contributes greatly to the wellbeing of the school and supports the numerous activities that go on through a variety of fundraising activities.
The present school was built in 1969 with an extension being added in 1977. There are 4 classrooms and a general purpose hall used as an assembly room, dining room. gymnasium, music room and drama area during school hours.
We have a spacious play area, much of which is grassed and the remainder tarred. We have recently built two new trim trails, an outdoor classroom and a brand new garden. Children get regular opportunities to work in the garden doing weeding and planting. During September we harvest our crops which are cooked up for school dinners. Children enjoy eating al fresco at our wooden picnic benches when the weather permits. A number of games have been painted onto our hard surfaces and the children use them in a variety of ways.
We aim to provide a nurturing, caring environment for all of our children. Respect and good manners are always high on our agenda and we encourage very high standards of pupil behaviour.
At Langbank we have high expectations of all of our young learners and this is reflected in our very high levels of attainment. We also encourage and celebrate children’s wider achievements.
Our goal is to create a learning environment which is stimulating, challenging and supportive.
