Our pedagogical approach is influenced by Fredrich Froebel who believed that everything in the universe is connected. As such all aspects of his principles are connected together and naturally flow into each other. This connected flow of learning is what we aim to achieve everyday for each of our children; to allow them to make connections within their knowledge and understanding of the world around them and gain real-life experiences to achieve skills for life, learning and work. This is evident in our baking, woodwork and sewing experiences on offer.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

At Ferguslie Early Learning & Childcare Centre we also encourage free-flow play allowing the children unlimited access to all areas of the nursery, both indoors and outdoors. We  have confident and responsive educators that will role-model and develop children’s deeper thinking, problem solving skills. Staff will guide the children’s learning encouraging the children to be free-thinking and following their interests throughout the nursery and will be responsive as to when to scaffold or when to simply observe. Staff are knowledgeable in their understanding of Curriculum for Excellence and use benchmarks to create deep, rich, meaningful experiences that cover the breadth of the curriculum.
