Gaelic Parent and Carer meeting

Interested in your child learning entirely in Gaelic when they go to primary school?

There’s an online information session for parents and carers to find out more on Wednesday 29 March at 6.30pm.

Children learning through Gaelic receive their normal lessons but instead of speaking, writing and reading in English, they do this in Scottish Gaelic. This is known as Gaelic Medium Education and means the classroom is fully immersive in the language. Gaelic Medium Education is offered within our existing Gaelic provision at West Primary School.

Anyone in Renfrewshire can choose to register their child to learn through Gaelic at West Primary from Primary 1 onwards. You don’t need to live nearby the school to attend.

At the meeting, Jennifer McHarrie from Bòrd na Gàidhlig (the public body responsible for promoting Gaelic development across Scotland) will be there to give an overview of what parents and carers can expect from Gaelic Medium Education and answer any questions.

You need to register to attend on the eventbrite website.
