Digital Learning Offer 22/23 | Digital Learning Renfrewshire

As part of the Digital Learning Offering for next session, I have met with Education Scotland’s Professional Learning and Leadership team to see how we could undertake practitioner enquiry with a focus on Digital Learning. We have agreed that this will be part of the Educator Leadership Programme and will be open to early years practitioners and post-probation classroom teachers. This is a short video to give you some information.

Those Renfrewshire staff who wish to undertake a Digital Learning practitioner enquiry should apply via the Educator Leadership Programme here having confirmed the dates with their Head. The closing date for applications is Monday 13^th June. The website provides all the details of what the programme entails and the options but here are some key points:

Enquiry Cycle 1 takes place from September 2022 to February 2023

Induction session: 6 September
Touchpoint twilight 1: options 1/2/3 November
Touchpoint twilight 2: options 18/19/20 January
Sharing the Learning session: 2 February

Enquiry Cycle 2 takes place from February 2023 to June 2023

Induction session: February (as part of Sharing the Learning session)
Touchpoint twilight 1: options 14/15/16 March
Touchpoint twilight 2: options 16/17/18 May
Educator Leadership Programme summit: w/b 5 June (this may be in person).

Rationale

The Scottish Government has made a promise of 1-2-1 devices for all learners from P1 – S6 by the end of this Parliament. This means schools need to begin planning now around how they will incorporate digital into their day-to-day planning, learning, teaching and assessment.

Our Digital Learning offer will provide high-quality CLPL to increase knowledge and understanding of effective digital pedagogy. We want practitioners’ to consider why and when to use digital tools and effective skills progression for learners, leading to a positive impact on learners.

Intended Outcomes

All practitioners will have access to a range of digital professional learning to increase knowledge, skills and deepen pedagogical understanding.
Tailored support will be provided to establishments, as required, to ensure they are confident in embedding digital learning and are supported on their journey.
Additional CLPL will be aligned to the wider Renfrewshire Digital Strategy currently being developed in line with Education Scotland’s Digital Vision
