Renfrewshire Social Media Guidance

In advance of our Professional Learning session on Social Media tonight, I thought it would be useful to share again the guidance given to us by Renfrewshire’s Comms Team.
Apps Process

We are always being asked how to get an app approved. This can be a piece of software, a browser based app or an app on the iPad. The process is the same for all and just as we have to follow an acceptable use policy for using a Council device, we have to undertake due diligence for any app that we are using either on a school device or with learners. This will ensure that we are GDPR and DP compliant, cyber have carried out the relevant checks to ensure no network compromises and legal agree the level of risk in using the app. As you can imagine, this can be a time-consuming process but it is essential that we do this to ensure that we are compliant. We are in the early stages of refining this process, but thought it would be helpful to remind you of the current procedure which can be found here:
