We at Cochrane Castle work closely with a number of different support services to help meet the needs of all our pupils. These are some which can be offered. Please contact Mr Clyne if you would like support to access a specific service.
Speech and Language Therapy
The Renfrewshire Speech and Language Therapy helpline is open on a Wednesday between 10am & 12noon. You can call the helpline to discuss any concerns you may have regarding your child’s speech, language or communication.

Occupational Therapy
The Renfrewshire Occupational helpline is open on a Thursday from 9.30am-12noon.
Please phone if you have questions or are worried about how a child or young person is managing:
- Self-care – dressing, washing, toileting, eating and drinking
- Play – playing with toys, playing outside, joining in at clubs or sports
- Work 0 nursery, school, writing, using scissors or being organised.

Renfrewshire Family Wellbeing Team
Family Wellbeing Team can offer support with the challenges of being a parent, such as:
- worries you have about any changes of circumstances for you and your children
- bereavement and loss
- emotional and mental health difficulties
- financial stress
- many other aspects of family life.

Exchange Counselling
All pupils at Cochrane Castle Primary can access Exchange Counselling services. If your child is feeling worried or anxious, or is experiencing changes that feel overwhelming, they have the opportunity to talk with a counsellor. Exchange counsellors regularly visit the school to provide one-to-one support for a number of our pupils.

Ren10
Ren10 is a network of people who work or volunteer in the Renfrewshire area. They have a variety of early help services for the mental health and wellbeing of you and your child.
