Positive Relationships Policy

Welcome to our Relationships & Behaviour Policy.

At Cochrane Castle Primary School, our approach to relationships and behaviour is rooted in our shared values of fairness, kindness and ambition. We believe children learn best when they feel safe, respected, included and understood.

Grounded in Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC) and Children’s Rights, our policy reflects our vision of being a school family where every child is loved, welcomed and supported to achieve their best. We use a blended, child-centred approach, drawing on nurturing and restorative practices, trauma-informed understanding, Non-Violent Resistance (NVR), and the PATHS programme to promote emotional wellbeing and positive relationships.

This document outlines how we create a caring, respectful school community where strong relationships help every child feel confident, valued and ready to learn.
