Safer Internet Week 2020

We have spent this week celebrating Safer Internet Day throughout the school. Each class participated in an activity exploring “online identity” and shared their online experiences and interests. Our digital leaders led assemblies related to this theme and did a fantastic job teaching each year group about what is safe to share online. Here are some photos of what we have been up to.

Our Digital Leaders led the school assemblies this week.

P2 spent time showing what apps they go on when using the internet.

P3 drew logos and emojis to represent their online identity and we guessed who created the profile.

P7 looked closer at what type of information is used to create an online profile.

Digital Leaders 2019

Today you watched a short video about Digital Leaders. The Digital Leaders will be trained to use different types of technology and will use their expertise to support the pupils and staff in our school community. Here is the short film you watched today:

If you are interested in becoming a Digital Leader, application forms are available outside the P4B classroom. These must be completed and returned to Miss Burnett by Friday 20th September.

Explain Everything

Today at the Digital Leaders meeting, we learned how to use the Explain Everything app. This is a great app that turns the iPad into a mini interactive whiteboard. We can explore ideas and share our learning by animating, recording and annotating slides.

In our next session, we will make a plan of how to teach what we have learned to a class of our peers. This will allow them to use the iPads in different areas of learning in class

P5S – PowerPoint Workshops

Last week our Digital Leaders held workshops at lunchtime to teach their peers how to use certain aspects of PowerPoint in Glow. These enthusiastic individuals below gave up some of their lunch to learn new skills which they will hopefully put to good use during their time in Primary 5. They were all awarded with a certificate for attending the workshops. Well done!
