Oor Wullie’s Big Bucket Trail

Bishopton Primary School has been given the opportunity to design and create a wee Oor Wullie sculpture by the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.

With the competition launched at assembly today (27th March) we would like every pupil to take some time over the holidays or after to create and colour a design for the wee Oor Wullie sculpture.

Oor Wullie Design Template

All pupils completed designs must be submitted to their class teacher by Thursday 18th April.

A winning design from each stage will then be chosen and elements will be incorporated into the finished Bishopton Primary Oor Wullie sculpture.

‘Children must show adventure and use their imaginations to showcase their voice on issues that are important to them.’

The completed Bishopton Primary wee Oor Wullie Sculpture will then be put on display in a public building as part of a trail across Scotland.

In addition, every entry that the school receives will be put into a second Scottish Citylink Oor Wullie Competition where pupils  could have the chance to have their own individual design featured on the side of a Citylink coach as it travels throughout the country.

For an overview of the project you can see the launch video: https://vimeo.com/294817943 and Bucket Trail website https://www.oorwullie.com/

Big Pedal 2019 = Big Reminder!

The Sustrans Big Pedal challenge will run from Monday 25th March to Friday 29th March.

Children are asked to come to school every day with their bike or scooter.  At some point each day they will have the opportunity to get out in the playground and cycle/scoot with their class.

Children must wear a helmet when  on their bike/scooter.  It would be appreciated if an adult could check over bikes and scooters before children bringing them to school for the first time.

During Big Pedal next week,  Mr Neill will be here to advise the children on how to make sure their bikes and scooters are safe.

Find out more information here –https://en-gb.facebook.com/kustomkruizerscic/

We also ask that children cycle/scoot to school (but not in the playground before or after school or on the way home from school).

Please encourage your child to appreciate the safety of pedestrians as well as road users.

Many thanks for your support.
