- Adam went to Braehead to spend some of his Christmas money. He bought a game for £34.99, a pair of trousers for £14.50 and a DVD for £12.99. How much did he spend altogether?
- Eilidh has a bag of sweets. When she counted them she discovered there were 456. She shared them with Eva, Leah and Holly. How many sweets did each girl get?
- David wanted to buy a pair of football boots. The ones he wanted were half price in the sale. If they were £129 in the sale how much were they originally?
- Killian is reading a book with 280 pages. If he reads 20 pages every night of the week, how many weeks will it take him to finish the book?
- Evie has 150 hair bows. She decides to tidy them into groups of 10. How many sets of hair bows will she have?
- Challenge Question: Mrs. Hughes had lots of visitors at New Year. Some of them gave her tins of shortbread as a first foot present. In total she had 4 tins each with 20 pieces of shortbread in them. a) How many pieces of shortbread did she have altogether? Mrs. Hughes decided this was too many for her to eat so she brought them into school and shared them with the 7 groups in her class. b) How many pieces of shortbread would each group get? c) Would there be any left for Mrs. Hughes?
