  1. Last week we had 5 groups making shortbread in class. Each group used 125g of butter, 180g of flour and 55g of caster sugar.  How much of each ingredients were used in total?
  1. Lucas is saving for a new scooter. The model he would love is £95.00. If he has already saved £47.50, how much more does he need to save to buy the scooter?
  1. On Saturday Chloe S had to pay her monthly dancing fees. If she pays £9.50 for one week, how much will she need to pay for 4 weeks?
  1. (a) Cameron S loves cycling. On Saturday he cycled from Bishopton to Erskine and back again. If the journey is 2.9 miles (one way), what distance did he travel in total?

(b) If he did the same journey again on Sunday and Monday,  how           far would he have travelled in total over the three days?

  1. (a) On Friday night Lucy S went ice skating with her sister, Erin. Their mum gave them £5.00 to buy some snacks during their break. If they bought 2 bottles of juice which cost 89p each and 2 bars of chocolate costing £1.24 in total, how much change would they have for their mum?

(b) How much did one bar of chocolate cost?

  1. Challenge question: (a)  Olivia is obsessed with the new Smiggle shop in Braehead. She saved up her pocket money for a few weeks and decided to spend some of it on new stationery. She bought a pen at £3.50, a pencil case costing £11.00, a drinks bottle which cost £7.25 and a ruler that was £2.10 in the sale. How much did Olivia spend in total?

(b)  If Olivia had £8.65 left in her purse, how much money did she          have before she went shopping?
