Global Play Day

On Wednesday February 6th, we will be celebrating Global Play Day.  All of the classes in the school will be taking part.  The idea is to get children to play with more traditional toys and games and to ditch the screens for a day!

Children can bring in a toy from home to play with but there are a couple of rules

  • no electronic devices
  • no battery operated toys

Children will be given time during the day to play with their friends and their toys.  The benefits of play are far reaching and help improve our mental well being.  Perhaps you could talk to your child about games you used to play at school and they could tell their class about this on the day.

As the toys may be shared with others in the class, we would ask you not to send in anything sentimental or delicate!  Toys can include board games, jigsaws, cuddly toys, dolls, lego for example.  It would help if the toys could be clearly labelled with your child’s name and class.
