- Since we have been learning about the River Clyde Gregor decided to go for a trip on the Waverley. He sailed from Largs to Glasgow, a distance of 38miles. The River Clyde is 109miles long in total. How much further would Gregor have to travel to reach its source?
- The Waverly is the last seagoing, passenger carrying paddle steamer in the world. She was built in 1946 – how old is she?
- The Clyde Tunnel was built in 1963 and is the length of 7 football pitches. If a football pitch is 120m long, what is the length of the Clyde Tunnel
- Andrew managed to complete 19 shuttle runs in 12 minutes in P.E. on Thursday. If he maintained his pace, how many shuttle runs would he manage in an hour?
- Challenge Question: When Emma dances she works hard and uses up 7 calories per minute. (a) If Emma dances for an hour and a half, how many calories does she use? (b) If Emma goes to dancing 4 times a week, how many calories does she use in total? (c) This week Emma has to do an extra class on Sunday which lasts for 2 hours. (i) How many calories does she use for this extra class? (ii)How many calories will she use altogether this week?
