In Barsail Primary, we seek to create and implement a supportive learning environment which has appropriate pace, rigour and challenge for all learner’s in order to raise attainment and improve achievement. We recognise the importance of the quality and nature of the learning experience in developing attributes and capabilities and in achieving active engagement, motivation and depth in learning.
In Barsail Primary we will:
- develop classroom strategies which challenge and support pupils
- use methodologies; including active, cooperative, and outdoor learning approaches
- use ICT across the curriculum
- endeavour to make learning fun, interesting and worthwhile
- take account of individual needs and learning styles
- create a classroom environment which has a clear sense of ownership and encourages pupil choice
- provide opportunities for pupils to work individually, with partners, groups and as part of a whole class;
- encourage pupil involvement in independent learning, offering opportunities for personalisation and choice, while taking pride in their work;
- make learning resources interesting, varied and widely available.
