Dreams

I want to dream

I want to dream good dreams

Not the dreams that leave you in an ice cold sweat

Not the dreams that make you feel like long nailed fingers are about to wrap around your throat and strangle you

I want to dream like forests about clean running water and warm sunlight

I want to dream like the ocean about all the different types of fish that they are sheltering

I want to dream like space of the many universes and nebulas across the universe

I want to dream like the sky of having a nice puff from their sugar to create clouds and of watching the many humans go about their business down below

I do not want to dream about clocked figures haunted houses and mad Doctors

 All I want is dreams

 Good dreams

  1. Well done Finlay. The contrast between good and bad images in your dreams make your poem powerful. I hope your (good) dreams come true.
