I Choose

I did not choose my date of birth
I did not choose my brain  or thoughts
I did not choose were I live
I did not choose my name

I did not choose what I do at home
I did not choose my little annoying brother
I did not choose my bed
I did not choose my size

I cannot choose my family
I cannot choose my final breath
I cannot choose where life takes me
I cannot choose what people think of me

So I will choose to be a Palaeontologist
So I  will choose when I change
So I will choose my life
So I will choose when I have my dinner

I’ll choose what I have for dinner
I’ll choose what I do when I get home
