A Barn Owl

I want to be as free as a bird
I want to be as free as a barn owl.

Not a barn owl trapped in a shaded barn,
on a summery sunny Sunday.

I want to be a free barn owl
up the heathery hills on a misty Monday morning.
Not on a school day, in the holidays.

I am a barn owl, a barn owl
twit, twoo,
twit, twoo

I want to be calm and stationary,
of course I can, I am a barn owl.

Don’t put me to bed when my sister is snoring,
put me to bed in the middle of the morning,

in the middle of the forest
on the top of Dun Collich,  because remember…

I am a barn owl, a barn owl
Twit, Twoo  Twit, Twoo
Twit, Twoo  Twit, Twoo.

You might not see me
just look up I will be soaring in the sky,
on a misty Monday morning.

Twit Twoo.
