Football is my passion.

 

Last year the virus appeared.

Like a dark stormy wave

Relentless and chilling, the fear of the unknown.

Opened my eyes to a world of no colour.

Death toll rising, sadness all around rules and restrictions creating a frown.

Its for the best they say, protect our families, no need for dismay.

 

Simple pleasure takes for granted.

COVID-19 restrictions spreading fear and darkness.

Families forced apart but always in the heart struggling and sadness, wish this were over.

 

 

Football is my passion, its power lifts me up.

Games I have been missing, cancellations are in place.

Fun with friends has been interrupted as the days go by

 

 

This year times are much the same, but glimmers of hope are flashing in my eyes.

Will the vaccine bring hope, happiness, and brighter days so we sit and wait to what will become?

Hot summer days, laughter and fun with friends hopefully on the way.

Forever this will not be, surely freedom is on its way.
